Patna: Three persons of a family, including a 4-year-old boy, were killed on Saturday when their car was hit by a train in Bihar’s Patna district, police said. The Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi special train hit the vehicle while it was crossing the railway tracks between Potahi and Nadwan stations at around 6.35 am, East Central Railway (ECR) CPRO Rajesh Kumar said.
“It was a clear case of trespass and carelessness on part of the vehicle driver. He was crossing the railway tracks illegally…,” he said. The train was on its way to Gaya when the accident took place, Kumar said.
The deceased were identified as Sujit (32) and his wife Nilima (26) and name of their son is yet to be known, Punpun police station SHO Kundan Kumar Singh said. They were residents of Anandpuri area of Patna town, he said. Bodies were sent for post-mortem, he added.
